30-06-2010Till the end of July...not to miss!Tones on the stones 2010  The new edition of “Tones on the Stones” comes back to amaze its audience with four exceptional events: the Ossola quarries will be transformed in to a charming stage for the occasion.
An appointment not to miss is that on Saturday 17th July at the Granito Sempione quarry in Varzo with a show based on Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The show starts at 9 pm in a place where the dark atmosphere of the play by Shakespeare will find its natural environment. The unique show includes dances, words, songs and magic.
A finalist of the Eti Awards 2007 and the winner for box office proceeds in 2008 comes to Ossola after having been in many towns and theatres all over Italy.
The rich calendar of appointments of “Tones on the Stones” doesn’t stop here! The festival starts on 26th June paying homage to “picasass” (the stone cutters) with music, shows, dances and interactive technologies. On 23rd July at Pianasca quarry in Villadossola Marcus Miller performs. On 31st July at Palissandro Marmi quarry there is the closing performance of the festival with “Fuego Gitano: Pasion y Muerte. The true story of Carmen”. Opera, dance and theatre will alterned to tell a story of passion and blood. Gianmarco Tognazzi, a famous Italian actor, is the special guest of the show.

There will be a section dedicated to the market numerous gardeners, who will be displaying and selling unique species of plants, while private collections will be showed in the other section.
“Biodiversity and plants in danger of extinction” is the main theme of the event to which a lot of experts will take part to give you a couple of tips about gardening.
On Saturday 17th June 2010 a creative workshop for children will be held from 15:30 by the Verbania Garden Club. Young kids will have to create funny cactus with the oddest materials.
